Matthew Solan has more than 20 years of experience as a medical, health, and science writer and editor. His areas of expertise include medical conditions, cognitive health, exercise science, nutrition, men’s health, and geriatric medicine. 

Matthew has produced newsletters for Harvard Health Publishing (Harvard Men’s Health Watch), UCLA Health (Healthy Years), and Belvoir Media. He writes a monthly blog on a variety of health and medical topics for Harvard Health. He also has written and edited special health reports and online medical guides and created content for medical websites, news outlets, and research hospitals.

Matthew has contributed to leading publications and websites, including Men’s Health, Muscle & Fitness, Men’s Journal, Runner’s World, Bicycling, Yoga Journal, University Health News, and Healthline.

Matthew advocates health and fitness in his personal life. His endeavors include the JFK 50 Mile ultramarathon, IRONMAN 70.3 Florida, and multiple long-distance cycling events, such as RAGBRAI in Iowa, Cycle North Carolina, Cross Florida, and 72 Hours to Key West.

In his spare time, he collects antique typewriters and fountain pens and works on being a better bridge player.
